Victorian Burr Walnut Inlaid Coffee Table

Victorian Burr Walnut Oval Coffee Table – Circa 1860
A superb quality Victorian burr walnut oval coffee table, circa 1860, featuring a beautifully figured top with rich colour, attractive grain and fine decorative inlay.
The oval top is veneered in highly figured burr walnut, displaying wonderful swirling grain patterns and warm golden-brown tones. It is further enhanced by delicate boxwood stringing and elegant scrolling inlaid decoration at four points around the border. The shaped, moulded edge provides an attractive finish to the top.
Raised on a finely carved solid walnut twin pedestal base, each support features a turned column with decorative foliate carving, standing on elegant cabriole legs with carved scroll feet. The two pedestals are united by a turned and carved central stretcher, providing both strength and decorative appeal.
A highly decorative and practical antique coffee table, combining exceptional burr walnut figuring with fine craftsmanship and an elegant design.
