A good quality George III period mahogany chest on chest of classic form, constructed in well-figured mahogany with a rich, warm colour and pleasing natural patina. The upper section is fitted with two short over three long graduating drawers, standing above a lower section of three further long drawers, offering generous storage throughout.
The piece is surmounted by a moulded dentil cornice and features attractive canted corners with fluted detailing, adding architectural interest and refinement. The drawers retain their brass oval handles and escutcheons, further enhancing the authenticity and period character.
